We all do it. But could you do more.
1) Change your buying habits. Only buy from retailers that supply good in recyclable packaging - then it call can be recycled.
2) Have your own compost bin. All food waste and some cardboard goes in here. It saves buying compost and helps the garden.
3) Recycle your old phones - many of us have old phones lying around. Get them recycled.
4) Don't buy aerosol cans Use pump action ones instead.
5) Aluminium Foil Rinse or wipe off any crumbs or food residue from foil trays. To rinse just dunk the tray in the washing up water - no need to run the tap.
Scrunch kitchen foil, tub and pot lids and wrappers together to form a ball - the bigger the ball, the easier it is to recycle.
6) Medicines Return them to a pharmacy or chemist for safe disposal in their original box.
7) Water bottles - refill from the tap- its cleaner and safer water and the bottle get used again and again.
8) Use your own shopping bags - we all all encouraged to do this - keep a fold up bag in a coat pocket.
9) straws are now all paper, or you can use plastic ones that can go in the dishwasher and be used again and again.
